The EDDIE House

The EDDIE house is a newly renovated and expanded Edwardian era home completed in 2011.  EDDIE is an updated and contemporary version of Edward, retaining the scale and solid bones of the existing structure yet mixing surprising new materials, forms, and sustainable features to reflect our modern times.  Terrazocrete slab with recycled glass and water based lithium-silica densifier eliminated added layer of finished floor and is eco friendly with minimul VOC’s.  Other feautres inlcude Pheonix Solar system with hydronic heating, formaldehyde free FSC PlybooPure flooring, recycled Knauf EcoBatt insulation, and backyard urban farm.

The Owner, Mimi Chen, was also both the Architect and Interior Designer for the project.
